Update
Here’s an update on the comparison between my two wicking systems, each with a White Devil’s Tail. One is in a single 5 gallon bucket with a 6 inch net pot and wick hanging down in solution. This one has a deep reservoir than just just below the bottom of the net pot. The other is in a diy Earthbox style self watering container, consisting of two 5-gallon buckets. The internal bucket is full of potting mix. It has a shallow reservoir.

Hi Peter, thank you for the detailed comparison. Is the microfiber wick method something you would still recommend today?
Thank you. I still use it, there are probably better options, helps to experiment. I don’t recommend pure cotton and some t-shirt blends as I have found them to disintegrate fairly quickly.
