Grow Updates – 2020

This is my first pepper grow update for the 2020 growing season. I'm starting pepper seeds using the AeroGarden seed starting system designed for the AeroGarden 9 pod Bounty and Ultra/Extra models. I'm using the AeroGarden nutrients and sponges that came with the seed starting deck, but will eventually switch them to Masterblend. To make things easier, I created a Google Drawing of a 10 x 5 table to keep track of which pepper seeds are planted in each growing sponge. Here's a template if you want to print one yourself. This is my forth pepper grow update for the 2020 growing season, since starting seeds. I have a few pepper plants still indoors, most are hardening off outside now. I'm currently feeding the last of my AeroGarden nutrients, then will switch them back to Masterblend. This is my fifth pepper grow update for the 2020 growing season, since starting seeds. Most of my peppers are outside hardening off to the sun. I have a few hydroponic DWC pepper plants still inside. I plan to move those to large Kratky systems soon. They are two Khang Starr crosses, a KS Linzo x White Thai, KS Lingria, and my cross of Malagueta x KS White Thai. I also have a few plants still growing in small water bottles. This is my seventh pepper grow update for the 2020 growing season, since starting seeds. I started all of my pepper seeds using the AeroGarden seed starting system designed for the AeroGarden 9 pod Bounty and Ultra/Extra models, as well as the AeroGarden Sprout seed starting deck. I'm having some leaf issues on a few plants, which could be from a combination of nutrient over-release, wet weather patterns, and insect damage. Most of the peppers are set in their final containers. I did set up the 60-gallon pickle barrel Kratky grow with the Khang Starr Linzo x Sangria (Lingria) f2. It is doing very well and producing many peppers. I have a few wicking containers feeding out of totes, and a 27 gallon Kratky float valve managed tote with two peppers, a ReaperTalii and KhangSta Yellow. For all of the wicking and Kratky systems, I'm using a three-part blend of 4-18-38 MasterBlend, Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom Salt), and Calcium Nitrate. I switched nutrients for the Khang Starr Lemon StarrBurst in the self-watering container from masterblend to MegaCrop. It is doing very well and producing many peppers. This plant and of the wicking and Kratky systems, are getting a three-part blend of 4-18-38 MasterBlend, Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom Salt), and Calcium Nitrate. The drip system plants are getting fed osmocote 14-14-14. Although, I'm not super happy with how they look. Most look ok, but could be better. I have a few peppers getting MegaCrop and they are doing well. I might try using that on the drip system next year. This is my tenth pepper grow update for the 2020 growing season. The pepper plants appear to be doing much better, with many peppers producing fruit. Some are turning ripe on the 60-gallon pickle barrel Kratky grow with the Khang Starr Linzo x Sangria (Lingria) f2, as well as the Aji Rainforest, Piri Piri, Aji Chombo, and Bhut Solid Gold x (Pink Tiger x Peach Bhut). There is a lot of growth and fruiting on both the MegaCrop fed and Masterblend fed plants. I gave the drip system plants the second feeding of osmocote 14-14-14, as well as some Essential Minor Elements. They seem to be doing better.
